Atlanta United Defends Throne in First-Ever Meeting Against Charlotte FC

Atlanta United faced 2022 MLS expansion side Charlotte FC for the first time on Sunday March 13th at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It was United’s goal to get back on track with a win, and the team did just that by finishing with a 2-1 win with goals scored by Josef Martinez and Jake Mulraney. The sold out match, presented by AT&T, was the first of two meetings against Charlotte in 2022 with the second coming at Bank of America Stadium on April 9 in another nationally televised match on ESPN.

Atlanta United Mounts Thrilling Late Comeback To Draw CF Montréal 3-3

Atlanta United played to a 3-3 draw against CF Montreal Saturday March 19th before a crowd of 42,578 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. After falling behind two goals and being reduced to 10-men in the second half, Atlanta United scored two goals in the final five minutes plus stoppage time to earn a point heading into the FIFA international break. Josef Martínez scored his second goal of the season, Thiago Almada scored his first for the club and Brooks Lennon netted his first of the year.

ATL 2 Defeats Charleston Battery 4-1

Atlanta United 2 hosted the Charleston Battery, the oldest team in the USL Championship, for a Sunday-evening match at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on March 27th. The team picked up its first win of the season with a 4-1 decimation of 10-men Charleston Battery. ATL UTD 2 ended its search for its first win of the season, coming off a tough 3-0 result at home against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Jackson Conway scored his first USL Championship hat trick, while 16-year-old Jonantan Villal marked his first professional start with two assists.
